LEO Foundation: Standalone Grants

The LEO Foundation Standalone Grants are given to build, develop or strengthen excellent dermatology research within specific areas. The grants are invitational only — the LEO Foundation issues specific invitations for applications.

A notable example is the LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center (SIC), established in 2019 at the University of Copenhagen’s Maersk Tower, supported by a grant of DKK 400 million over 10 years. SIC aims to become a world-leading center for research and education in skin diseases.

Another example is the LEO Foundation Center for Cutaneous Drug Delivery, established in 2017 at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen, supported by a grant of DKK 40 million over 10 years. The center focuses on integrating knowledge about skin as a barrier for drug absorption with research into novel drug delivery systems.
